St. Dominic's College Kanjirappally hosted the inaugural Mar Joseph Powathil All-Kerala Inter-collegiate Quiz Competition on October 22, 2024. Mar Joseph Powathil Ever Rolling Trophy was unveiled by H. E. Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurackal, Curia Bishop of the Syro Malabar Church, on October 21, 2024.Twenty Eight teams across Kerala participated in the preliminary round and five teams advanced to the final.The event was led by Mr. Rijo John, Assistant Professor at Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, and a popular vlogger behind the YouTube channel 'Journeys of Joe.' The winners were:
First Place: Rahul R. and Prince R. from Govt. TTI, Kollam, who received certificates, a cash prize of ₹10,000, and the Mar Joseph Powathil Ever Rolling Trophy.
Second Place: Anugraha V. K. and Nithya Paulose from Union Christian College, Aluva. They were awarded certificates and ₹5,000.
Third Place: Amal K Augustine and Harilal C. S. from John Paul Memorial B. Ed. College, Kattappana. They received certificates and ₹2,500.Teams in fourth and fifth positions were awarded participation certificates.
Prizes were distributed by Dr. Seemon Thomas, Principal, and Fr. Dr. Manoj Joseph, Bursar, in the presence of Dr. Jesby George, Quiz Club Coordinator, and other faculty members. This marks the successful beginning of the Mar Joseph Powathil Quiz Competition, fostering student learning and engagement.
