Message From Principal

I have pleasure immense in introducing St.Dominic’s College Kanjirappally, a prestigious HEI in the middle Travancore area, to its innumerable well-wishers and stakeholders. The college is situated on a lush patch of 25 acres of land along the NH-183(Kottayam-Kumily Road) at Podimattom, 42 kilometers from Kottayam and 97 kilometers from the Cochin International Airport towards the East. It was established in 1965 as an affiliated college of the University of Kerala by the Catholic management of St.Dominic’s Forane Church, Kanjirappally. Later, with the establishment of the Mahatma Gandhi University in 1983, the college became one of the A grade colleges under it. The college has been rendering yeoman service to generations of students ever since its inception. At present, the college has 13 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate programs. One of its departments, viz., the Department of Commerce, is a research center whereas the other departments too strive to attain that status soon.

I would like to place on record the selfless and effective contributions of all our former patrons, managers, principals, staff, alumni and numerous friends and well-wishers from all walks of life. May God bless each and everyone of them for their deep love and great concern for the college. The tradition set by the previous generation of teachers is assiduously maintained and avidly improved upon by the new generation of teachers who are committed to raise the college to even greater heights.

Both in the curricular and co-curricular areas, the college maintains a unique position in the Mahatma Gandhi University. Every year our UG and PG students secure top positions at various university examinations, fluttering our flag aloft. In the arena of Sports and Games too our college wins laurels every year. The phased development of the College along the past is well attested in the accreditation and assessment grades that the college has received earlier: Three Star in 1999, ‘B++’ in 2007 and ‘A’ Grade in 2017. The management of the college constantly equips it to attain its promised vision and mission. Our patron, His Excellency Mar Jose Pulickal and the Manager, Rev.Fr Varghese Parinthirickal, deserve a big salute for their constant support, paternal love and unstinting concern.

The college provides ample facilities for its students to develop their intellectual, physical, aesthetic, social, emotional, and moral capacities in an integral manner. Student clubs, covering a wide range of activities, play a vital role in the campus life of students. The college has instituted so many scholarships and endowments in view of promoting the academic, intellectual and artistic acumen of the students. Besides these, financial assistance is given to the deserving students on need-cum-merit basis. I call upon the students to tap the full potential of the college for your integral development.
